About me

Rita Faire is a Lecturer of Publishing and English Studies at the University of Stirling. She is currently researching the power structures and dynamics of international publishing and is preparing a research project on the role of US antitrust lawsuits in shaping the landscape of international publishing. Rita is also interested in role of the child in political narratives in literature and theorising girlhood in relation to age and memory.

Before this, she spent more than a decade in the magazine and book industries, working with publishing companies in the UK and abroad, including award-winning Scottish dyslexia-friendly publisher Barrington Stoke. Rita previously served as a programming advisory board member for Researchers Exploring Inclusive Youth Literature (REIYL) and was the co-founder of the Researcher-Activist Network (RAN). Rita is currently on the editorial board of The Literary Platform and is the co-host of the Royal Society of Literature-funded podcast Swift Tea, a show that engages in literary and cultural education through the analysis of Taylor Swift’s songs.
