About me

Sharon is a Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Stirling, a role she has held for the past 3.5 years. She brings over 30 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the NHS, with a career grounded in acute medicine, medical receiving, haematology, and one of the early nurse practitioner posts. Most significantly, she spent 18 years as a Senior Nurse in Practice Development.

Sharon transitioned into academia to build on her clinical experience and contribute to the development of future healthcare professionals. Her areas of interest include nursing education, patient safety, leadership, and practice learning. She is a strong advocate for improving healthcare through education and is committed to promoting a culture of compassion, professionalism, and person-centred care.
